Boys Powerlifting at State Meet Results

Several lifters achieved impressive results at the Division 3 State Powerlifting Meet held Friday, March 21 in Abilene, TX. Senior Joseph Tuck earned a silver medal, finishing second overall in his respective weight class. Tuck tied for first with a combined lift of 1835 lbs, but the tiebreaker came down to body weight at weigh-in.
Johnavion Dees, a junior competing in the super heavy weight division, finished out the meet with a total lift of 1800 pounds, which included a record-setting bench press of 565 pounds. Dees now holds the state record for bench press in division 3 for the state of Texas!
Three other students walked away with a top ten finish.
In the 132-pound division, Peyton Valdez finished in 7th place with a total weight of 1,195 pounds.
In the 148-pound division, Kaden Schneider finished 10th place with a total weight of 1,320 pounds.
In the 242-pound division, Jett Coleman finished 10 place with a total weight of 1,520 pounds.
Tedricc Calhoun and Adain Dalton also made a state appearance in their respective class divisions.
