Forty members of the Troy High School band recently traveled to Temple High School in Temple and University High School in Waco to compete in the UIL Solo and Ensemble contest. Congratulations to the 21 soloists, two small ensembles, and two medium ensembles who earned superior ratings (1s), bringing home a total of 60 medals.

“I’m very proud of the Troy Band members,” said band director Rustin Honeycutt. “I'm very proud of our talented students that perform the harder grade solo and ensembles. The ones that advanced to state were very challenging.”

Two soloists and two small ensembles have qualified for the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest, which will take place on May 24 in Austin, TX.
