Welch Signs to Play Volleyball at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
Kayleigh Welch celebrated an exciting new chapter, officially signing her commitment to play collegiate volleyball at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Known for her skill, dedication, and passion on the court, Welch now looks forward to representing her values at the collegiate level while pursuing her athletic dreams.
Reflecting on the significance of this opportunity, Welch described it as “a blessing that I feel God has opened up for me.” She shared, “Personally, it’s the fulfillment of a long-held dream, a chance to grow both on and off the court. As an athlete, I see it as a platform to push myself to new levels while honoring God with the gifts He’s given me.”
Throughout her high school volleyball career, Welch has embraced every challenge, using her faith to find strength in difficult moments. “There were big games where we faced incredible pressure,” she recalled. “I remember praying for strength and peace, learning to lean on God no matter the outcome.” These experiences have shaped her into a resilient competitor ready for the journey ahead.
Her choice to sign with A&M Corpus Christi was inspired by the university’s welcoming community and shared values. “[A&M Corpus Christi] felt like a place where I could thrive, both as a person and an athlete,” she said. “The community and coaching staff genuinely care about my development beyond just volleyball, and the values of the program align with my faith and goals.” She also expressed, “I’m excited to strengthen my skills, build new friendships, and represent the university with pride,” adding that she looks forward to serving as a positive influence for her teammates and others she meets along the way. Preparing for college volleyball has been both physically and spiritually transformative. Welch shares she been working hard on her technique, endurance, and mindset, while also focusing on building her faith through prayer and reflection she feels ready to face the challenges that the journey will bring. Looking ahead, “I want to approach every practice, game, and interaction with gratitude and humility, staying focused on continual improvement. With God’s guidance, I’m ready to make the most of this experience and leave a lasting impact.”
